Let us upload our own photos and pictures
and add them to items and perhaps attach them as comments to trip messages (ie post them to the news feed)

I agree, Being able to share pictures of places would be benificial. Also, mapping tools would be pretty awesome. Here is an example of one I made using Google Places:

Great thought. Also could photograph maps like walking tours etc and include them with attractions
