When planning, sometimes people have a set budget, others need to research the feasibility of a trip by looking at prices and coming up with a tentative budget. It would be nice to have a feature where we could add the different parts of the trip (transportation, lodging, flight...) and put a tentative budget for each category (and be able to add/customize the categories). Thank you.

A costing summary for the trip would be excellent.

I don't need splitting. Just need a simple spreadsheet with:
item, sub-items, amount, comment.
P.S. I despise Google Docs.

A budget planner! A place where you can estimate how much each section of your trip is going to cost!

Budget tracking is essential. Lots of features in this app that look appealing, but I doubt I will keep it if I can't track a budget.

It would be nice to have a way to track the budget for the trip. It could possibly automatically add the cost tag of all the items on the itinerary.

A tab to notate total estimated trip expenses/costs that will total it for you so you will know how much your trip will cost altogether including gas, meals, lodging, attractions, everything.

This was the first thing I discovered Planapple doesn't provide - would be really good to be able set up a trip budget and to be able to track trip costs against the budget during the planning phase

I like this idea. I'll probably use the Google Docs suggestion for this trip, but a cost summary would be nice.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. We don't have this feature on the near term roadmap but it's definitely something other users have also asked for.

One thing you can do now that works well is to simply bookmark a spreadsheet from Google Docs into your Planpple trip (using the save button). While this isn't the most elegant solution, Google Docs is not a bad tool for keeping a simple budget, and it's nice to have a link to it stored with the rest of your research in Planapple.

Sounds like good idea to add a cost field (and currency) to each item

I've added several costs to different attractions during my trip. Would be nice to see Planapple giving me the overall cost for the places I've put in the Itinerary.
