Visual Indication when new items/discussions are added
Have an easy, visual way to show that something has been added/commented on when viewing the trip page. For instance, if I start a Discussion with my tripmate, perhaps show Discussion in bold or with a (1) after it to indicate that there's something new there.
My tripmate doesn't always check his email, so he's not likely to see the notifications. If there was an easy way to see that there are new items (and where they are), it would be really helpful.

We’re thinking about adding little orange dots by items that have been updated, and also showing the updated count in the list on the left. (Kind of like iPhone/Android mail apps show the unread count.)

That would be great! Even though I get email updates, it would be nice to have a quick way to see where there have been updates. :)
